THE Everest Cricket Club came alive last Wednesday evening as the Jeet Brothers of USA held their annual dominoes tourney. International 6 led by a superb Ron Callender and Hilbert Ali with 17 games apiece tore apart their opponents Kings Jewellery World and Canal 6.

The victors made a near flawless start with 15 games in comparison to Canal 6 12 and Kings Jewellery World’s nine games.

As the match progressed Canal 6 gained momentum and threatened to outplay them as the end of the fourth sitting read: International 6 on 52 games, Canal 6 with 50 games and Kings Jewellery World chipping away on the leaders with a well-played 50 games.

The final sitting saw International digging deep into their reserve and chalking up 17 games as the final scores read, International 6 on 83 games, Canal 6 and Kings Jewellery World finishing on 74 games apiece. Kings Jewellery World took second spot by virtue of having more sixes than their opponents.

Top scorers in the match were Ron Callender, Hilbert Ali and Intikab Ali for the winning team while K. Alli and Roopnauth King made 15 and 14 games respectively for the second-placed team. Shivdatt Sukhai’s 16 games was not enough for Canal 6 efforts.

Trophies and caps were awarded to the winning team; second-placed team got a trophy and a medal for the best player of that team. Ron Callender took home a gold watch after being adjudged MVP.
