I was sorry to read the news that Mr. C.N Sharma was unwell but I would like to wish him a quick and complete recovery so that he can continue doing the good work he does. Having said that, I would like to point out that he commended the Caribbean Heart Institute for successful treatment which speaks a lot since it is no secret that Mr. Sharma has always been one to condemn the service of local institutions.
It is heartening to hear words of commendation from Mr. Sharma about the service provided by this institution and I hope that this experience would change the perception he has of local institutions. I hope that others who are quick to condemn and who try to make us all believe that Guyana’s institutions cannot provide quality service, take note, because here is a man who has always been quick to criticize and condemn public institutions and entities claiming that they do not provide proper service.
This shows how far Guyana has gone as we now have the capacity to conduct surgeries of many kinds including heart, kidney and eye. Significant strides have been made over the years to improve health care and the developments are not just confined to the health sector. One just has to look around to see the vast improvements across the country which enable Guyanese to have better quality service and facilities.
I think it is time that all Guyanese reflect on the progress Guyana has made as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary of being a Republic as we can see the difference in everyday life. The achievements are there for all to see and we can all now celebrate the progress we have made. Once again I would like to wish Mr. Sharma a speedy recovery.
