Minister of Agriculture Robert Persaud is currently attending a meeting in California, in the United States to discuss how Geographical Information Systems can be used as a tool to support the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) and Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV).
Minister Persaud will deliver an address to the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), and is to have follow up discussions on formulating a plan for implementing ESRI software and training for the University of Guyana, Guyana Forestry Commission, Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission, New Guyana Marketing Corporation, and the Office of Climate Change, among others.
