DIRECTOR of Sport in the National Sports Commission (NSC) Neil Kumar JP, MP, has expressed his regrets at the passing of Dr Ronald Phoel Singh, the former Director of Sport in neighbouring Suriname.

According to a press release, Kumar stated that the late Dr Phoel Singh was extremely helpful in ensuring the Inter-Guiana Games involving Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana was a success and his contribution cannot be denied.

Kumar also said the late Dr Phoel Singh will be remembered for his unflinching support to the games and took the time to extend his and the NSC’s sincere sympathy to his family and the sporting fraternity of Suriname who has lost a stalwart in the field of sports
