THE People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) expresses its shock at the tragic events in Haiti as a result of the earthquake that occurred on Tuesday.

The Party, in a statement, said it wishes to convey its sincere sympathy to the Government and people of Haiti, at this time.

While all the details of the tragedy are yet to be disclosed, preliminary assessments suggest that there has been significant loss of lives as well as the destruction of infrastructure in the capital.

The PNCR said its Leader has been in discussion with President Jagdeo on a national response to the crisis and will support all initiatives by the Government and people of Guyana to assist the people of Haiti.
