Each New Year provides the ideal opportunity for me to strengthen my resolve in my personal and professional life.

While I do not make annual resolutions per se, I am more focused on long term plans, and then use the beginning of the year to measure, evaluate and make appropriate interventions or changes.

Personally, I would like to continue to work on maintaining my good health and fitness, and to be the best father, friend and patriot.

Professionally, 2010 will see more proactive and aggressive strategies to market Destination Guyana; to build a stronger, larger and more cohesive private sector; to maintain stable and affordable commodity prices; and to improve capacity building, quality, quality, service and standards in the industry.

I am resolved to ensure that the nation gets the best benefits of the services provided by my Ministry, and that tourism, industry and commerce remain a sustainable and central part of Guyana’s social and economic future.

Generally, I will be more committed to securing and maintaining a clean, green and pristine Guyana.
