Handing over of gifts from Prof. Daizal R. Samad, Director University of Guyana Berbice Campus to a student of Belvedere Primary school.

THE University of Guyana (UG) Berbice Campus Library organised and pulled off its third ‘give a child a gift’ exercise as it reached out to some of the less fortunate pupils of the elvedere Primary School, Corentyne, at a simple ceremony.

Director of the Berbice Campus, Professor D. Samad, had encouraging words for the children, noting that they were important for the future. He stressed that this should not be a one year exercise but should be done even more regularly.

The gifts that were distributed were purchased by staff members of UG Berbice Campus.

The Headmistress, on behalf of her staff expressed sincere gratitude for this kind gesture and was grateful that something of this nature had occurred, especially at this time of the year. The pupils were also extremely delighted
