TARIQ ‘Taliban’ Williams and Edmund ‘Musca’ Sammy with 16 games apiece made sure that Bumpy’s 6 cart off the Trophy Stall sponsored dominoes in honour of Hilbert ‘Bumpy’ Ali’s 75th Birth Anniversary recently, at the popular Maxie Hangout Bar, Garnett Street & Vlissengen Road.
The teams in contention were Jacksons 6, Colin 6 and Bumpy’s 6. Bumpy’s 6 came from Ian ‘Dumping Ground’ Moore, Junior ‘Hard Card’ Ramghunter, Edmund ‘Musca’ Sammy, Hilbert ‘Bumpy’ Ali, Tariq ‘Taliban’ Williams and Neil Rammer’ Henry while Jacksons 6 comprised of Jermain ‘Hold Tight’ Jackson, Orin ‘Super-cool’ Boston, Trevor ‘The King’ Bovell, Roderick ‘Dayclean’ Harry, Ron ‘Destroyer’ Callender and Andrew ‘Rap with Card’ Morgan. Colin 6 saw Darwin ‘Lucky’ Chase, Manniram ‘Packer’ Shew, Intikab ‘Cryout’ Ali, Colin ‘Maestro’ Hicken, Michael ‘Jeweller’ Browne and Ravi ‘Cunning’ Shivnauth coming together.
Colin 6 started off with a blistering 13 games followed by Jacksons 6 closely behind on 11 games and Bumpy 6 with nine games, Colin maintained the lead and the match seemed like a one sided affair until the end of the fifth sitting when the scores read Bumpy’s 6 with 65 games, Jackson’s 6 on 63 games and Colin’s 6 after a miserable sitting on 61 games.
Jackson’s 6 made a brave effort but were denied the chance of winning, compliments of Colin’s 6 ,as the match ended with Bumpy’s 6 victorious with 78 games, Jackson’s 6 77 games and Colin’s 6 in the cellar with 72 games.
Trophies were presented to the first and second place winners by a representative of sports enthusiast, Ramesh Sunichs of The Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and branch at City Mall.
