NEXT year will make it ten years since Kross Kolor Records is in business, and the company has a number of activities planned to mark this momentous occasion, which will have as it theme, ‘The Kolor Revolution’.
According to a release issued by the company, one of their hallmarks over the years at Kross Kolor Records has been forward planning and the efficient execution of those plans.
True to character, though their anniversary proper is not until next October, the company kicked off its commemorative activities in fine style Friday evening with the launch of 30 new releases on a specially created version of Hot Tracks, aired on 98.1 Hot FM and hosted by DJ, Rocky Carew.
Artistes featured on the programme that evening were: Vanilla, B52, Adrian Dutchin, X2, Gialliani, HeadHunters, Jumo, Bonesman , Tennicia, Ossie O, Corner Stone, Jebelmusa , Passion, Big Red. Colgrain White, Magus, and Code Redd.
The label was also slated to release new songs by Nancy ‘Zara’ Osbourne; Jermaine ‘The Pheonix’ McBean; and ten-year-old Jovinski.
According to the release, not only was the programme intended to showcase Kross Kolor Records in a different light, but the singles being released were a reflection of what the artistes on the KKR label had in store in their upcoming albums.
It said too that all the upcoming albums will be released before the tenth anniversary show, and that each artiste will have a video presentation for three of their recordings.
With Kross Kolor having over the past years revved up its presence overseas with TV sound track and licensing deals, plans are afoot for them to have their own television programming, slated to be launched shortly. This is in addition to their resolve to launch a new website and an aggressive Internet marketing strategy, and to have a presence at major trade shows.
According to Kross Kolour founder, Burchmore Simon, KKR will be looking forward to working with a diverse set of arrangers from within as well as outside of Guyana as the company strives to continue to produce quality material for its artistes.
