THE Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Guyana Agricultural Producers Association (GAPA) begins a two-day training programme in Orealla today for farmers and interested persons from Orealla and Siparuta.

This training programme is focusing on areas of Pest and Disease Management with specific emphasis on Integrated Pest Management, Acoushi Ant Control and areas of concern. In addition, training will be provided for the Safe use of Chemicals, Post-Harvest and Marketing Techniques to boost the sale of agricultural produce.

Training will be provided by resource personnel from NARI, Crops and Livestock Division within the Ministry of Agriculture and the New Guyana Marketing Corporation.

Farmers from Orealla and Siparuta are encouraged to attend this important training programme today at 13:00 hours (1:00 pm) and tomorrow at 09:00 hours in Orealla.
