ACTING Chief Justice Ian Chang yesterday acceded to a petition by Fioud Ali and granted bail to his father, Fizal Ali.
The latter, majority shareholder and manager of Yuppie’s Depot and Wings Taxi Service, had been refused the grant when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson on charges of indecent assault and using abusive language, earlier this week.
Attorneys-at-law Mr. Anil Nandlall and Mr. Manoj Narayan, for the Alis, named the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) as respondent.
The defendant was ordered to lodge $35,000 surety on the indecent assault charge and $15,000 on the abusive language charge.
The Court papers gave the Alis address as Lot 45 High Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown. (George Barclay)
