Marijuana smoker remanded on indecent assault charge

INDECENT assault defendant Lloyd Allicock, 22, of Lot 103 Brickdam, in the Police compound, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, on an indecent assault charge.

It is alleged that he committed the offence on a female in Lance Gibbs Street, another part of Georgetown, on June 30.

Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, said the defendant, who lives with his policeman father, pushed down the virtual complainant and touched her private parts.

The Prosecutor said Allicock smokes cannabis (marijuana) regularly and may be mentally challenged as a result.
He was remanded to prison until July 9.

Sister returns booty but defendant denies burglary
NOEL Jardine, 16, was Wednesday remanded to the Ruimveldt Juvenile Centre, until July 7, after he pleaded not guilty to break and enter and larceny, before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.

It is alleged that the defendant, of Lot 367 East Ruimveldt, also in Georgetown, broke and entered the dwelling house of Travis Atwell, between June 23 and 24, when he stole two musical tape decks, one cellular phone and charger, one MP4 player and other articles, all valued $170,295.

The Prosecutor, Police Corporal Munilall Seetaram said Jardine’s sister returned some of the booty after her brother confessed to the crime.

Seetaram successfully opposed bail for Jardine, on the grounds that the investigation is not yet complete and the Police cannot determine the age of the defendant, who had initially said he is 21 years old.
