TWO passengers are patients at Suddie Hospital on Essequibo Coast, after being injured in a collision between two speedboats in the vicinity of Troolie Island, along Essequibo River, on Sunday.

Police said Devon Hinds, 34, of Linden and Rickford Wallace, 47, of Troolie Island, were thrown out of the boat in which they were travelling.

The incident occurred about 18:30h when the two vessels were plying the Parika to Buck Hall route in opposite directions and collided around a bend in the river.

As a result of the impact, the occupants of both vessels were hurled overboard but they managed to reach safety on Troolie Island, Police reported.
