RYAN Paul, 20, of Lot 62 Herstelling New Scheme, East Bank Demerara was yesterday remanded to prison on a felonious wounding charge.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, he pleaded not guilty to having, on June 5, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Roman Daniels with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
The virtual complainant, who was in Court, said he was walking through the street where the defendant lives when he was attacked after he and the defendant’s uncle had a previous issue and they threatened him.
Daniels said the assailant, having inflicted the injury on him with a cutlass, told him that is what he would get when he ventured into “bad man village.”
The case was transferred to Providence Court, also on East Bank Demerara, for today.
