There were seven victories for English-speaking Caribbean countries at the meet staged at the Paquito Montaner Stadium.

Martina, who finished fourth in the 100 metres at the Beijing Olympics last August, delivered his quickest time this year to win the men’s 100 metres in 10.19 seconds, chased by Britain’s Dwain Chambers (10.21) with American Mark Jelks third in 10.32.

There were other top three finishes for CARICOM athletes in the women’s 100 hurdles and long jump.
