Wounding victim names different defendant

SHAWN Harvey, 32, of Lot 144 James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle on Wednesday on a felonious wounding charge.

But Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant, Devon Chase, gave a different statement in which he said it was the defendant’s nephew who wounded him.

The victim also told the Court it was harvey’s nephew who attacked him on his way home.

Subsequently, Harvey, who pleaded not guilty to the April 7 intent to cause grievous bodily harm offence, was granted $100,000 bail until May 19.
