Rejected mini-bus passenger denies stealing driver’s shoes

MINI-BUS owner Steven Grant lamented in court on Wednesday that, after he chased a prospective passenger out of his vehicle, he discovered his shoes missing.

Grant gave the narrative when Sherwin Barrow, 29, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle on a simple larceny charge.

After the defendant pleaded not guilty, to the April 9 theft of the footwear valued $3,500, the virtual complainant said he was waiting for passengers and took off his shoes.

Barrow declared that the driver lost them because of his carelessness and anyone else could have picked up the pair.

The defendant was put on $20,000 bail until May 15.
