PROMPT response by the police to an armed robbery at Grove, East Bank Demerara yesterday led to the recovery of an unlicensed 9 mm. pistol and the spoils from the robbery of a Beharry Limited salesman.
In a press release yesterday, police said that their investigations revealed that the salesman, Natram Nambudu, was making a delivery to a business place at Second Street, Grove, at about 13:45 h. yesterday when he was held up by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The men took away $10,000cash, a cell phone and personal jewellery from Nambudu who was struck about his head with the firearm, after which the men escaped.
The matter was reported to the police who responded and observed the suspects and gave chase, but they managed to escape, police said.
However, the police recovered a 9mm. pistol that was dropped by the perpetrators during their escape.
Investigations are ongoing.
