At the time of his death, he was Production Superintendent of the GNNL, responsible for the operations of the Pacer 36 press.
He was widely regarded as being one of the best Printing Pressmen in the country at the time of his death.
Lynch was eulogised for his “foundation building service” to the GNNL during a special meeting of employees last week chaired by Chairman of the Board, Mr. Keith Burrowes.
Burrowes, on behalf of himself, the directors, Government and the Chronicle family, extended his deepest condolences to Lynch’s bereaved relatives.
Noting Lynch’s dedication and commitment to the job throughout the more than 33 years he worked at GNNL, Burrowes said the company has certainly lost a good worker.
Lynch was found dead in his red Nissan car after it was pulled from a ditch at Happy Acres, East Coast Demerara around 05:00 hrs on March 28th.
Just before the accident, he had dropped off a colleague at Golden Grove, also on the East Coast Demerara, and was on his way home at Lot 11 Area ‘CC’ Ogle when his car ran off the road and into a ditch.
He appeared to have fallen asleep whilst driving and a post mortem report revealed that he died from drowning.
He was born in East Ruimveldt on October 30th, 1955.
He joined the Staff of GNNL in 1976 as a ‘Delivery Boy’, working with the Circulation van dropping off newspapers to readers and vendors in and around Georgetown and the lower East Coast and East Bank Demerara in the early hours of the day.
He worked his way up to Dispatch Clerk and then into production and the printing press room.
He worked as a Printery Assistant, Grade A, until his recent appointment as Production Superintendent.
Lynch, who was never married, is survived by his six children – Troy, Toysha, Jamicy, Ghwan, Rushelle and Shequawana and two foster children , Tiffany and Kersha.
He is expected to be further eulogised when fellow workers, friends and relatives pay their last respects today.
