After going through all the necessary procedures (GPL, PUC) I did not get any satisfaction in this matter. I have no alternative than to let the public know that GPL is oppressing me and my family. I demand that GPL correct this matter urgently and to compensate me for billing me wrongfully.

My light bill was under Residential Tariff for around $4,000 – $5,000 per month. In March 2008 GPL sent me a bill under Commercial Tariff for over $10,000. Immediately I enquired from GPL and was told that I am using light for my little stall in my yard.

Note carefully, I only have two small energy saver bulbs, lighting only two hours a day and I had a couple of soft drinks in my fridge (the same fridge I have all the time). I went home and immediately removed the light from my stall and stopped using my fridge to sell drinks. I reported immediately to the supervisor and CEO of GPL. They haven’t taken me off the commercial tariff as yet. From March 2008 to now, 2009, I am still receiving commercial bills. This is total victimisation by the Authorities of GPL and they need to correct this matter urgently. I am a religious worker and it is very hard upon me now.
