THE murder trial of two brothers and their cousin did not resume yesterday because one member of the jury, sworn last week, took sick over the weekend and is hospitalized.
State Prosecutor Kara Duff-Yehudah, who made the report to Justice Winston Patterson at the Demerara Assizes, said malaria is suspected but typhoid cannot be ruled out.
The Prosecutor is expected to receive results of tests on the patient today and give the judge an update.
In the dock are Ragib and Asif Ali, 28 and 26, respectively and David Jacobs, all accused of unlawfully killing Rameshwar Persaud called Ramesh on February 5, 2006.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Hukumchand is representing Ragib Ali, Ms. Kamini Paraig is for Jacobs and Ms. Sonia Pariag for Asif Ali.
