Children’s costumes ‘enthralling’

The Convener of the Children’s Mashramani Competitions, Mr. Seeram Bhiro, has referred to the display by participants as enthralling.

This aptly describes yesterday’s showing by nursery, primary and secondary school students.

The costumes designed under the themes Fantasy and Topical, were done in two categories, individual and group, at all three levels.

However, only the primary and secondary schools qualified for the finals.

At nursery level, in the Individual Category under the theme Fantasy, Headstart Nursery placed first, while, also in the Individual Category, under the theme Topical, Selman Nursery placed first.

In the Group Category, at nursery level, under the theme Fantasy, Headstart Nursery placed first, joined, in the same category, under the theme Topical, by Lodge Nursery who also came first.

Winfer Gardens Primary, the only entry in the Individual Category for five to seven-year-olds, copped the first position with an entry under the theme Fantasy.

For the eight to 10-year-olds, in the Individual Category, under the theme Fantasy, Winfer Gardens placed first, along with Ketley Primary, who placed first with their performance under the theme Topical.

In the Group Category, for the eight to 10-year-olds, Tucville Primary placed first, under the theme Fantasy, followed by Ketley Primary, who also placed first, under the theme Topical.

For the 11 to 13-year-olds, in the Individual Category, Winfer Gardens copped the first prize with a performance under the theme Fantasy, along with Community Academy who placed first under the theme Topical.

In the Individual Category, for the 14 to 17-year-olds, under both themes Fantasy and Topical, Dolphin Secondary copped first prize

In the Group Category, also for the 14 to 17-year-olds, under the theme Fantasy, Dolphin Secondary once again placed first, while Cummings Lodge Secondary came out in first place with their performance under the theme Topical.
