Poor telephone service in Region 2

UNTIL such time as GT&T can provide an efficient land line service to customers in Region #2 which stretches from Pomeroon to Supenaam the monthly rental being charged now should be waived because of the constant defects within the new system.

Even after a year since it was introduced, improvements are difficult to come about with much inconvenience being endured by customers who have to pay for a defective service which is very unfair.

All along, the same problems keep recurring with much difficulty for the company to implement corrective measures.

For some time now, it was not possible for me to make a call at any destination even within the district along being so near to the Suddie Exchange and far apart in receiving a local call an interruption of a sudden “cut off:” occurs. None of my relatives or friends residing abroad have been able to make contact with me through this service for some months now from an obvious defect somewhere along the line.

On December 9, last, I visited the Anna Regina Exchange where a special team from Georgetown was assigned to deal with customers’ complaints but it was just useless going there.

Since that day and on to now, only precious time and travelling money were wasted as no one from GT&T showed any concern about my complaint probably because of the company’s monopoly here in a can’t do better situation. Competition is always good.
