THE Young Warriors Cricket Club of Cumberland Village, East Canje, Berbice, recently launched its annual fundraiser – Mash Cup 2016.

This event will form part of Guyana’s 50 Independence Anniversary, with proceeds going towards further improvements to the club’s facilities and day-to-day affairs.

In addition, funds will be allocated to three schools in the No. 19 to Gangaram area.

The tournament will be played on Tuesday, February 23, a national holiday, and will involve 10 second-division teams from the area.

The one-day tournament will be a five-overs- a-side affair. No first-division cricketer will be allowed to participate.

Incentives with the value of over $100,000 will be up for grabs with lots of gate prizes.

The 2015 edition was a huge success and the club would like to thank the following persons and businesses for their support, as it looks forward to their continued support for the 2016 edition:
