A dispatcher attached to the Georgetown Hospital Ambulance Services died hours after she was discovered dumped on Church Street with stab wounds about her body Monday night.The bloodied body of Melissa Skeete was discovered on the street and was immediately rushed to the hospital sources told Guyana Chronicle. She died around 21:00h. When Guyana Chronicle visited the Georgetown Public Hospital news of Skeete’s death had just surfaced. Her colleagues wept openly hugging each other for comfort.
One senior colleague was in disbelief when he heard of the incident. He said it was only Monday morning that he handed over to the young woman while they changed shift. She worked until 15:00h. Sources told this newspaper it is believed that the young woman had decided to end a relationship with a man and he is suspected to have inflicted the fatal wounds to her body before dumping her.
