Windball action hits Timehri Red Ground

THE Ministry of Education Department of Sport, National Sports Commission & AL Sport & Tour Promotions-sponsored Primary School Girls & Boys Windball Cricket One-day programme entered the Timehri area for action at the Red Ground recently. Representing the Director of Sport at a simple ceremony was Sean Erskine, who bowled off the programme in the presence of AL Sport & Tour Promotions officials Hutton Mars & David Wren.
In the male results, Supply Primary School held off the spirited challenge of Soesdyke Primary in a close contest.
Batting first, Supply posted 29-3 and in response, the opposition could muster only 24-3.
In game 2, Timehri Primary after being invited to take first strike made 51-2, off their allotted 5 overs, with Ricardo Thomas 26. St Mary’s Primary in reply were restricted to 32-3.
On the distaff side, St Mary’s 28-1 was enough to hold off Timehri Primary (26-2).
In the second game, Timehri (30-1) thanks to Allya Dodson’s 14, were able to overcome the challenge of Soesdyke (21-5.).
