Dear Editor,

A NUMBER of car washes have recently sprung up in residential areas. Some operate at a high level of noise, causing discomfort to neighbours in their homes — you have to talk on your telephone or Skype in the washroom area; also, you have to turn up the volume of your TV; dirty water discolouring the walls of your homes.I wish to ask City Council a number of questions: Did you give permission for these car washes to operate on Council reserve? Are they registered with the Guyana Revenue Authority? Do they pay the Guyana Water Inc. and Guyana Power & Light commercial rates?
Here’s hoping something can be done.
