Vreed-en-Hoop farmer on $180,000 bail – for allegedly stealing clothing in NWD

PERRY Boodhoo, a 39-year-old farmer of Lot 19 Plantain Walk, Vreed-en-Hoop, WBD, appeared yesterday before city magistrate Ann McLennan, arraigned for allegedly stealing a quantity of clothing valued at $303,000 from the stall of Margo Gordon at the Port Kaituma Water Front in the North West District (NWD) on Friday, October 02.

Police Prosecutor Corporal Deniro Jones opted for the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) to be applied to the case, and the farmer, with much assertion, pleaded not guilty to the charge and requested that his matter be heard in the magistrate’s court.

He was placed on $180,000 bail after Corporal Jones made no objection in that regard, and will make his next court appearance on November 03 before the Matthews’ Ridge magistrate.
