FOREIGN Affairs Minister Carl Greenidge and his counterpart of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, on Sunday signed an agreement, on behalf of their countries, which will facilitate visa-free travel for citizens between the two States. The signing took place on the sidelines of the United Nations 70th General Assembly, United Nations Headquarters. Minister Greenidge said it is a process that is aimed at encouraging movement between the two countries. This new agreement will now afford citizens from these two countries the opportunity to travel between the two countries without a visa and stay for a maximum of six months. This new development will also see a major boost for the local tourism and business industries the minister said.
In addition, the minister said he views this move as one that will also remove a major barrier and one that will enhance business relations between the two countries.
