Trouble in Abuja… President Ramotar urges Nigeria’s President Jonathan to take heart

–commits to helping counter ‘the scourge of terrorism’
PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar, in a touching letter to his Nigerian counterpart, President Goodluck Jonathan, commiserating with him on the recent tragic loss of life and limb at the hands of terrorists has urged him to take heart; that he is not alone in this war on terrorism.His message reads:

“I was extremely disturbed on hearing the news of the bomb blast which occurred on April 14, 2014 in Abuja, where seventy-one persons lost their lives and others were severely injured.
“Guyana strongly condemns the heinous act of violence which has been perpetrated in your country, and hopes that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
“Guyana further reiterates its commitment to working with the international community to counter the scourge of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Guyana, and on my own behalf, I extend my sympathy to the Government and people of Nigeria.
“Please accept Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
