Trophy Stall sponsors School of the Nations’ 10-over cricket tournament

TROPHY Stall of Bourda Market has agreed to sponsor School of the Nations’ Annual 10-over Inter-Class cricket tournament which began on January 15.In results from matches played so far, Grade Three H defeated Grade Three G by four runs after Grade Three G compiled 44 runs for the loss of two wickets, with Navisha Hardowar and Bruce Young making 14 runs each.

In reply, Grade Three H made 48 runs for the loss of five wickets, with Janaia Nash scoring 25. Best bowling figures came from Macy Morgan 2-1-9-2.
Grade Four C defeated Grade Four J by five wickets after Grade Four J batted first and made 62 for 7 with Davendra Hamlet scoring 38 runs: 4 C in reply made 77 for 5 with Zachary Jodah (captain) scoring 56 runs. Best bowling figures came from Rabekah Gharbaran of Grade Four J: 2-1-1-2.
Grade Five A played Grade Five J and won by nine runs after batting first and compiling 75 for the loss of two wickets. Team captain David Bissoon made 62 not out and Grade Five J replied with 66 for 2 off the allotted overs. Team captain Allistair Agrippa scored 38 not out. Best bowling figures came from Samuel Booker of Grade Five A: 25-2-0-3.
All matches are played from 12:10hrs in the school’s Gymnasium using tennis balls.
The Secondary Department competition is scheduled to commence today with Form 1 ‘O’ playing Form 1 ‘M’.
On February 4 Form 2 ‘FG’ will play Form 2 ‘SG’, while on February 6 Form 3 ‘T’ will play Form 3 ‘F’, and on February 10, Form 4 will play Form 5.
Semi-finals will be played on February 11 and 12, then the final on February 14.
The tournament will culminate with a match between Staff and the winner in the final.
The secondary department will also be playing 10 overs but they will be using taped balls.
All teams are made up of six males and five females.
Trophy Stall will be awarding trophies to outstanding batters and bowlers in each game also a champion trophy to each Grade level.
This is the first of its kind by anyone to the Sports Department of the School of Nations.
