SIR Garfield Sobers, the greatest all-rounder the sport of cricket has ever seen, and Barbados’ only living National Hero, celebrated his 78th birthday yesterday.

Sir Garry got an early birthday gift last Saturday, when the Barbados Tridents presented him with a special team shirt at Kensington Oval before their Caribbean Premier League match against Amazon Warriors.
Sir Garry, who attended all three of the team’s home matches, was all smiles when he realised his shirt number was 365 – the world record score he made as a 21-year-old in 1958.
