TWO Essequibo teens were killed in the wee hours of the morning yesterday after the car in which they were travelling crashed into a concrete bus shed on the shoulder of the Lima Public Road. According to reports the lads, 12-year-old Bidesh Mohabeer and 19-year-old Rupesh Jadoo, who are cousins, were hanging out when the accident occurred.

Jadoo, of Reliance Village, was reportedly driving the car when he apparently lost control and crashed into the bus shed.
The 12-year-old, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the car, sustained serious injuries to his head and face, while the driver seemingly died on the spot.
According to Raveena Mohabeer, young Bidesh, who is her only brother, left home around 17:00 hrs on Wednesday to go on a lime and sleep-over with Rupesh at his home at Reliance.
She said Rupesh came with his car and collected her brother from their home at Bamboo Dam, in Sparta.
Mr Edward Mohabeer said when he got the message that Bidesh was dead; he rushed down to the Suddie Hospital immediately. That was around 02:00 hrs, he said. The grieving father said when he saw his son, a student of the Anna Regina Multilateral School, he was already dead. He was lying on a sheet, blood pouring from his body. He appeared to have sustained severe injuries to his head and face.
He said eyewitnesses told him that his son was breathing when he was extricated from the damaged vehicle, but probably died on the way to hospital.
Over at Reliance, meanwhile, the parents and relatives were in deep mourning over the loss of their loved one, Rupesh.
Several neighbours had gathered at the homes of the deceased teenagers at Sparta and Reliance and were assisting to erect tents for the traditional wake.
At the scene of the accident, many persons had gathered later in the morning and were looking at the damaged concrete bus shed and a concrete fence nearby.
Many said they were in bed when they heard the sound of the car hitting the bus shed, and had rushed out to see what it was. One man said that the car, after breaking down the bus shed, turned turtle several times before crashing into a newly constructed concrete fence nearby.
He said the badly injured lads were taken out from the mangled car and rushed to the Suddie Hospital, but were pronounced dead on arrival by doctors on duty at the Accident and Emergency Unit.
Police are investigating. (Rajendra Prabhulall)
