Swiss Ambassador, Sabine Ulmann Shaban greeting President Donald Ramotar

AFTER accepting the salute from a female honour guard, Switzerland’s newly appointed Ambassador, Sabine Ulmann Shaban presented her Credentials to President Ramotar yesterday.

Welcoming the ambassador, President Donald Ramotar said that the relationship with her country is viewed as an important one.
“We anticipate your appointment will act as a catalyst to strengthen and advance these relations through the development of a fruitful programme of cooperation that could benefit key sectors of both our countries”.
An invitation was also extended to Swiss companies to invest in Guyana by the Head of State. He explained that it was only through mutual cooperation and commitment that global challenges can be met.
“Guyana also looks forward to working with Switzerland in the international arena and to contribute to the ongoing dialogue with a view to finding solutions, to the benefit of the world’s peoples.”
Ambassador Shaban said she would count on the guidance and wisdom of the Guyanese President to help her as she works to deepen the relations between the two countries. She noted that despite the distance between Guyana and her country, they share a lot in common and this will be used as a basis for improving the relationship between the two nations.  ((GINA)
