ANGRY African bees last week swarmed Good Hope Primary School on the Essequibo Coast, causing pandemonium in that learning institution; disrupting classes, routing teachers and pupils alike on to the public road, and causing six students to have to be rushed for medical treatment.Reportedly emerging from an old tomb in a cemetery located in close proximity to the school, the swarm of angry bees troubled the residents of Good Hope and Supenaam communities until they joined forces and eradicated the dangerous nuisance from the tomb, so classes at the school could resume.
The school was closed last Monday and Tuesday. Teachers and students tried to enter the building on Wednesday, but were again attacked by the African bees. There were no classes on that day, but classes have currently resumed in full operation. (Rajendra Prabhulall)
