Starr Computers amazes Texila students with medical technology

MEDICAL students of the Texila American University have been enlightened by members of Starr Computers on the benefits of technology in the medical field.President of Starr Michael Mohan, in his presentation on Thursday in the company’s boardroom, labelled the session “Medical Technology” and disclosed that there are many ways in which technology has boosted the quality of health care across the globe.

The advancement in technology has seen ailments such as cancer being treated with photodynamic therapy, diabetics receiving artificial pancreas, dental care gaining multi-specialists in open office, ophthalmology introducing the bionic eyes, and various body parts being better understood through 3 dimensional (3D) printing.

In today’s society, Mohan said, there are certain applications which can be used to enhance medical services, such as on-line and local medical software. Technology can also help a searcher to find a doctor, access medical services, locate a hospital, and much more.

Texila students were amazed by the many possibilities which technology has opened up in the medical field.

They were later taken on a tour of the Starr facility, and were given the opportunity to see the equipment which Starr Computers has to offer to the public.

Something is invented for the betterment of mankind every day; and as the years go by and technology is enhanced, there will be even more interventions which will help in combating ailments which have, over the years, contributed to the loss of many lives. (Navendra Seoraj)
