Anand Rameshwar, 22, of Lot 257 Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, appeared before Magistrate Geeta Chandan- Edmond on two separate charges of break and enter yesterday.
He made his first appearance in court on December 5, 2013 and pleaded not guilty to the charges that said between November 30 and December 1, 2013 at Stabroek Market, Georgetown, he broke and entered stall # 28 and stole five bags of full cream milk powder valued $180,000, property of Gavin Paul.
The second offence stated that on the same day he broke and entered stall # 29 at Stabroek Market belonging to Shamsundar Raghubar with intent to commit a felony.
He was also sentenced to 20 days of imprisonment on December 5 in relation to the same matter after he pleaded guilty to being found in Stabroek Market during prohibited hours.

Based on the evidence provided by the prosecution, he was found guilty as charged.
Magistrate Chandan-Edmond took into consideration that the convict is a first time offender and his age, among other factors, before sentencing him. His sentences will run concurrently.
