Six-year-old in critical condition –after hit by speeding car on West Bank

SIX-year-old Adon James of Parfait Harmonie, West Bank Demerara is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), after being struck down by a speeding motorcar on the West Bank Demerara Public Road last Tuesday.He was rushed to the GPH where scans revealed that he suffered severe injuries to the brain, coupled with internal bleeding, injuries to his limbs and abrasions to other parts of the body.
The accident happened shortly before noon, as the child’s mother was crossing the road with her baby in arms and little Adon holding on to her dress.
The driver of the motorcar which caused the accident picked up the injured child, placed him into the car, along with his mother and the young baby and rushed them to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
The child remains warded under doctors’ close medical watch.
