VEER Farhad slammed an unbeaten century to propel Blairmont Primary to a 114-run win over Ithaca Primary in the Scotiabank Kiddy Progression One Cricket Tournament at the Blairmont ground yesterday. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Blairmont Primary compiled a mammoth 199-0 from their allotted 14 overs. Farhad’s 111 included seven sixes and 12 boundaries. His opening partner, Jaheim Elgin, supported him with an unbeaten 44 which included three sixes and three fours.
When Ithaca took to the crease, they never looked threatening. Determined attempts by the batsmen to keep the run rate favourable resulted in the steady fall of wickets. Only opening batsman Samuel Archibald managed to score double figures with 14 runs in his team’s total of 85.
Veer Farhad and Jaheim Elgin were also outstanding with the ball, grabbing with two wickets apiece along with Nicholas Nateram and Vishual Persaud who also accounted for two wickets each.
