A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl was mauled by a puma yesterday, leaving her in an unconscious condition.

The badly wounded child, named Jasmine Joseph, is from Isseneru Village in Region Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) and was near her home, about 08:00 hrs, when the animal dragged her some 60 feet into the bush.
Fortunately, she was rescued by persons who heard her screams and shot the attacker dead.
She, however, suffered severe injuries to her head and face as a result of the vicious attack.
Plans were being made for the injured girl to be air-dashed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) on yesterday afternoon.
