THREE men are in police custody following two separate armed robberies yesterday on the West Coast of Demerara (WCD).The police reported that about 05:45 hrs on Tuesday, two men, one of who whom was armed with a handgun entered the home of Wazim Khan, 54, of Anna Catherina, WCD, through an open door and held him at gunpoint.
They took away a video camera and a cellphone and escaped.

Later, around 09:15 hrs also on June 9, 2015, four men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, held up Rasheed Ramesh of Hague Backdam at Hague and took away his bicycle.

Rasheed Ramesh raised an alarm and residents came out in response. The police was informed and also quickly responded and with the assistance of residents caught three of the men.

An unlicensed .38 revolver with two rounds and the stolen bicycle were recovered.

Efforts are continuing to locate the other perpetrator.

The three men, one of whom has been identified as being involved in the armed robbery at Anna Catherina, are in police custody.
