PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar while on a two-day visit to the Essequibo Coast on Wednesday and Thursday took time off from his busy schedule to visit a 103- year -old resident of Aurora village.  The President embraced the centurion and said that he was very happy to meet him. The 103 –year- old man who is still in good health, told the President that he was happy to meet him and that he had bathed and dressed himself and waited for him to come.
In a conversation with the President, the centurion Mr Ram John Mohamed Khan said he is a die-hard member of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and he will die a member of the party. Mr Khan said he is looking forward to vote again for the PPP/C on May 11. The 103- year-old man said the PPP/C is the right party for Guyana.
Ram John, who served the Huist Diren mosque as an Imam for some 45 years is the father of 12 children, seven boys and five girls.Former Member of Parliament Mr Farouk Khan, who is a standing member of the PPP, is one of his sons. His granddaughter Afara Khan is one of the leading doctors at the Charity Hospital.
