PRIOR to the Essequibo Rally, People’s Progressive Party /Civic (PPP/C) prime ministerial candidate Elisabeth Harper took some time to explore some areas of the coast and interact with residents.Harper spent some time chatting with persons from the Anna Regina and Bushlot Markets. She listened to their concerns and also related developments on the Coast as well as plans the

Government has in store.

“The PPP/C aims to carry out its vision by focusing on key areas that would see strengthened economic growth and enhanced social progress,” she noted as she continued to explain that job creation on the Essequibo Coast is essential and a priority of the party and the PPP/C’s manifesto speaks extensively of this.
She listened to residents’ concerns and assured them that she would do everything in her power to address their concerns. She explained also that over the last three years the Government’s “hands were tied,” because of the one-seat majority the Opposition had in Parliament.
Harper urged residents that they should make all necessary efforts to come out and vote on May 11 and give the present Government the opportunity to deliver on the developments and plans in the party’s manifesto. Many persons were drawn to Ms. Harper by her caring and graceful mannerisms.
Ms. Harper also visited the Suddie Hospital where she said that she was very impressed with the staffing of the hospital. She related that she is pleased to have seen so many Guyanese doctors. With much enthusiasm, Harper noted that “we [PPP/C] will establish in Supenaam a polyclinic with X-ray, laboratory, dental and eye services. Essequibo will also benefit from the initiative to expand doctor –provided, home-based care in all regions.”
At the Essequibo Rally, she also said that future developments such as the development of new economic ventures in areas such as large-scale mineral, oil and gas extraction and large-scale agro- processing and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Tourism and Hospitality and transformative infrastructure.
