Police arrest 8 persons in McAllister murder

Police have arrested eight persons and are hunting for more following the discovery of the body of Wilfred McAllister called “Ernest”, 37, of Number 79 Village, Corriverton, Berbice, on Saturday, May 15, at Old Dam, Crabwood Creek.
The last time McAllister was seen alive is when he left a wedding house after an argument broke out on Saturday night.
His body was discovered at about 21:00 hrs with suspected stab wounds, Police said.
McAllister had been charged in connection with the Crabwood Creek septic tank murder of Ram Kanniah.
On the morning of November 15, 2009, Kanniah, 42, of Number 78 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, was found dead in the tank at Grant 1806 Crabwood Creek. A post mortem revealed that Kanniah died as a result of stab wounds to the chest, with protrusion of the lungs.
The body is at Skeldon Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
