Planet Paintball officially launched

PLANET Paintball Guyana (PPG) was officially launched yesterday at the Jackie Robertson ground, Pattensen, East Coast Demerara.According to a representative of the club, Planet Paintball was operational since last year and used the ground facility at the National Insurance Scheme Sports facility on Carifesta Avenue.
Planet Paintball Guyana is committed to developing the sport during its existence and hopes to attract a wide cross- section of Guyanese, especially those inclined to firearm sports.
To be a part of the Paintball activity, an individual will have to pay $2,800 in order to be able to be outfitted with the relevant protective gear and firearm.
That individual can participate as an individual or be part of a team competing against another team.
The individual will be given 45 paintballs which he or she will have to use within 30 minutes firing at their opponents.
The individual or team that comes out victorious will, however, not receive any monetary or otherwise reward/s, as it is all about fun, more or less a past time sport.
The work that has been put into the sport over the past year has seen it growing steadily, thus the move to make a considerable investment into its facility.
The facility at Pattensen, East Coast Demerara, is just one of two facilities that PPG is currently operating, the other is at the old access road to the Timehri Race track.
According to PPG’s Chief Executive Officer, Reona Cathro, the PPG wants to provide as many people as possible with the opportunity to participate in the game.
Yesterday’s launch she said, is an opportunity for anyone considering taking up the sport to give it a try, or for persons who are simply interested in seeing for themselves what it is all about to come out and play or join other spectators to have an enjoyable fun filled afternoon.
