NO one was injured yesterday when, shortly after 09:00hrs, two cars collided at the corner of North Road and New Garden Street here in the city, causing one to instantly burst into flames. The driver of the ill-fated Toyota Corolla, PJJ 7553, said he was proceeding at a normal rate of speed when the blue Toyota Spacio, PNN 2152, ran into his vehicle, causing it to first smoke then

explode. He said he had the-right-of-way when he was hit.
The tramautised man, who declined to give his name, said that thankfully, he was able to exit the vehicle before it exploded, and was very relieved that he was able to walk away unscathed.
The Guyana Fire Service (GFS) quickly responded to the fire call and extinguished the fire which had already destroyed the interior of the motorcar.
The driver of the Spacio, a well-dressed young man who refused to speak to the media, was asked to report to the police with his documents.
