Controller Fitzroy McLeod said the club is blessed with willing donors who believe in what the club is trying to do for the country’s youths to improve and inspire the lives of both boys and girls in the area of football.
Thomas used the opportunity to express the club’s gratitude to a number of sponsors who have assisted the club in the past and who have made commitments to continue assisting in the future.
He, however, noted that yesterday’s ceremony was reserved for Bert Sukhai, CEO of NAMILCO for the company’s continued investment in the club.
Thomas noted also that the flour company has injected millions of dollars into Guyana’s football through prize money and support to the club and this he said “is a tangible gesture, and today’s donation is yet another sign of commitment to our club and sports in Guyana”.
McLeod, in brief remarks, said the collaboration between NAMILCO and Fruta Conquerors is a very fruitful one. He lauded the club for its accountability and said his company shares the same views as the club and is committed to continue this relationship. He added that NAMILCO remains undaunted in its quest for the uplift of the club.
NAMILCO’S Public Relations Consultant Hafeez Khan said the company is happy to be supportive of Fruta Conquerors and generally sports in Guyana. “Fruta is our baby and we’ll make them football giants in time”
