– schoolchildren going to write NGSA exams among those injured
A MINIBUS driver is now dead while several others are injured after an early morning accident yesterday at Orangestein, East Bank Essequibo. The minibus which was transporting passengers from Parika to West Bank Demerara was reportedly being driven at ‘a reasonable rate’ when it collided with a Canter truck that was transporting meat, causing the driver of the minibus to be pinned down.
However, schoolchildren who were scheduled to write the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) Examination were injured along with other passengers. After the driver of the minibus was extracted from the wreckage, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Leonora Cottage Hospital.
