Man remanded for possession of cannabis for trafficking

THIRTY-year-old Jason Primo pleaded not guilty yesterday before City Magistrate Ann McLennan before whom he appeared to answer a drug trafficking charge detailing that on Friday, July 24, at Agricola, East Bank Demerara, he had in his possession 48 grammes of cannabis-sativa (marijuana) for the purpose of trafficking. The prosecution’s facts were not revealed to the court, but Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones opposed bail being granted to Primo on ground that no special reason had been advance for its grant.
Primo was accordingly remanded to prison, and the matter was adjourned to August 12 for report.
