Man chopped to death over woman

A 37-year-old man met his death brutally Monday night after a man who he wounded seized his own weapon and murdered him in a brawl over a woman in Garnet Street, Kitty Georgetown.Another man was grievously wounded and is a patient at a city hospital. Dead is Troy Brutus. The other man 36-year-old Michael Raley sustained wounds about his body and is a patient at a city hospital.
Police said Brutus went to the home of Raley at 182 Garnet Street and waited on him to return home from work. As Raley entered his house around 19:00h he was greeted by Brutus who dealt him several chops to his nose and hand.
Raley, a fisherman managed to take the weapon from the other man and in a rage chopped him about his body dealing him a fatal wound to his neck in the process. He was also chopped to his nose, mouth and hand. Information received by Guyana Chronicle state that the wounded man was at the time in a relationship with a young woman who had walked away from Brutus because of allegations of abuse directed towards her by the man. Brutus apparently flew in a jealous rage and launched the attack on his killer. Police are investigating.
